The Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research, based in Braunschweig, is a member of the Helmholtz Association and conducts cutting-edge research in the field of infectious diseases. Our scientists develop novel methods and strategies to combat infectious diseases more quickly and effectively. Our common goal is to develop novel approaches to the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of infectious diseases. Our research focuses on bacterial and viral pathogens, their interaction with the human immune system, and new effective drugs and vaccines.
The People & Culture department at HZI is the central point of contact for all personnel matters and questions. Your responsibilities will cover all aspects of the employee lifecycle, from personnel planning and recruitment to payroll accounting.
Tasks
- Handling fundamental matters in human resources management
- Providing ongoing support and advice on all issues relating to collective bargaining, social and labour law, taking into account the relevant provisions
- Working in a spirit of trust and cooperation at internal interfaces, including internal committees such as the works council and equal opportunities officers
- Collaboration and design in the digitalisation of processes, procedures and forms within the People and Culture department and at the interfaces with other departments
- Preparation of statistics, reports and completion of year-end tasks in the human resources area
Prerequisites
- Completed university degree/master's degree with a focus on law, business administration or a comparable field
- Very good knowledge of labour law, collective bargaining law and works constitution law
- Expertise in fundamental issues of employment law
- Initial management and professional experience in human resources or administration in a research institution environment
- Experience in the introduction of digital processes
- Confident use of standard software programmes; SAP knowledge is desirable
- Service-oriented working style, ability to work in a team and a friendly manner
- Organisational skills, analytical and structured way of working
- Very good written and spoken German and English
