The People & Culture department is looking for a part-time HR specialist to start as soon as possible.

The Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research, based in Braunschweig, is a member of the Helmholtz Association and conducts cutting-edge research in the field of infectious diseases. Our scientists develop novel methods and strategies to combat infectious diseases faster and more effectively. Our common goal is to find new approaches to prevention, diagnosis and therapy of infectious diseases. Our research focuses on bacterial and viral pathogens, their interaction with the human immune system and new effective agents and vaccines.


The People & Culture department at the HZI is the central point of contact for all personnel-related matters and questions. Its responsibilities cover all aspects of the employee cycle, starting with personnel planning and recruitment and ending with payroll accounting and job evaluation. This also includes controlling the personnel cost budget.

Tasks
  • Processing of matters of principle in personnel management
  • Ongoing support and advice on all matters relating to collective bargaining, social and labour law, taking into account the relevant labour and collective bargaining provisions
  • Collaboration in the digitalisation of processes, procedures and forms within the People and Culture department and at the interfaces to other departments
  • Creation of statistics and execution of year-end closing activities in the human resources area
Prerequisites
  • Completed university/master's degree with a focus on law, business administration or a comparable specialisation
  • Very good knowledge of labour, collective bargaining and works constitution law
  • Initial management experience, professional experience in the human resources sector or administration in the field of research institutions
  • Experience in the introduction of digital processes
  • Confident handling of standard software programmes; knowledge of SAP is desirable
  • Service-oriented approach to work, as well as a friendly manner
  • Organisational skills, analytical and structured way of working
  • Very good knowledge of German

23,4 hours per week
