The Hannover Study Centre focuses on infectious diseases and immune disorders, coordinated by the Epidemiology Department of the Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research.
"Researching together for a healthier future" - the Helmholtz Association, university partners and well-known research institutions have joined forces to create the largest nationwide health study in Germany - the NAKO.
The NAKO Health Study, a long-term population study spanning 20-30 years, investigates the causes of common diseases such as cancer, diabetes and infections. The study aims to understand the causes of illness or health in relation to the environment, social environment, workplace, diet and genetics. The NAKO examines 200,000 citizens aged 20-69 throughout Germany in order to prevent, recognise and treat diseases as early as possible.
Tasks
- You will carry out all the work involved in the study, such as Conducting interviews, anthropometric measurements, venous blood sampling, instrumental examinations such as ECG, lung function and simple laboratory activities
- Collection and documentation of study-relevant data
- Using, maintaining and servicing medical instruments, equipment and apparatus
- Measures for work and centre hygiene, storage of study materials
- Instruction, supervision and support of auxiliary staff
Prerequisites
- Completed training as an MFA (f/m/d), alternatively training as a study nurse (f/m/d) or health and nursing professional
- Safe venous blood collection
- Experience in handling human biomaterials and with functional tests (e.g. ECG and lung function) or willingness to learn and carry these out
- Ability to carry out standardised procedures reliably in accordance with SOPs
- Interest in learning new examination skills and techniques
- Friendly and service-orientated appearance
- Reliability, commitment and ability to work in a team
- Fluent written and spoken German
- Experience in working with computers and MS Office programmes
Working hours
39 hours per week
