As a member of the Helmholtz Association, the Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research, based in Braunschweig, conducts cutting-edge research in the field of infectious diseases. Our scientists develop novel methods and strategies to fight infectious diseases faster and more effectively. Our common goal is to develop novel approaches for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of infectious diseases. Our research centres on bacterial and viral pathogens, their interaction with the human immune system and new effective agents and vaccines.
The promotion of doctoral students at the Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research is of particular importance to us. For this reason, the HZI Graduate School already established at the Braunschweig campus will in future act as an umbrella structure for all doctoral students at the HZI sites, implementing and safeguarding standards. The regular scientific exchange of doctoral students from all locations is to be significantly supported through networking opportunities. Furthermore, networking opportunities with the doctoral programmes of the respective universities are to be established. The post holder will work closely with the project manager of the HZI Graduate School and the PostDoc Office. As part of the Young Scientists Support (YS) team, both institutions are also involved in overarching topics. The YS team is part of the People and Culture (PC) department.
