The Chemical Biology Department is seeking a student assistant to provide work assistance to a severely disabled scientist.

We are looking for a reliable assistant to provide up to 40 hours of support per month to a severely disabled scientist who is confined to a wheelchair. 

Tasks

You will get to know the processes in the field of drug research/metabolomics at a renowned research institution and support our department in its day-to-day business, including the analysis and maintenance of data. In addition, you will help our scientists in the preparation and implementation of research projects and support them in everyday matters, such as

  • handouts in the laboratory and office
  • performing mass spectrometry measurements (following instructions)
  • helping to put on lab coats
Prerequisites
  • Enrolled student at a German university or university of applied sciences, preferably with a background in natural sciences or engineering
  • Interest in the field of mass spectrometry and ideally already some initial contact with omics data analysis
  • Reliability, diligence and a high sense of responsibility
  • Social skills as well as the ability to work in a team and willingness to quickly familiarise yourself with new tasks
  • Very desirable: programming knowledge in Python (and/or R)

Up to 40 hours per months
