The Salon der Wissenschaft gives people in Braunschweig the opportunity to talk to researchers from the region. No lectures are given here; the focus is on interpersonal dialog. If you prefer to listen rather than discuss, simply grab a pair of headphones.

The next Salon der Wissenschaft ("Salon of Science") will take place on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 from 6:30 pm at the TRAFO Hub, Sophienstraße 40, Braunschweig. It is jointly organized by the association ForschungRegion Braunschweig e.V., which brings together the research institutions in our region, and the city of Braunschweig.

More than 30 scientists from research institutions in the Braunschweig region will explain to visitors in one-to-one discussions what they are researching and what they are dreaming of. Ask your questions and discuss exciting and forward-looking research topics. Prof Christian Sieben, virologist and head of the research group “Nano Infection Biology” at the HZI, will be participating in the Salon der Wissenschaft. He is investigating the cellular processes that occur when a cell is infected by a virus.

4 slots, 20 tables, 15 minutes

At the Salon der Wissenschaft, participants can exchange ideas on a wide range of topics at individual tables in parallel 15-minute one-on-one discussions.

In four rounds of talks, the format allows participants to discuss the contribution of research in the Braunschweig region in a personal and perspective-rich way. If you don't want to take part in the discussion yourself, simply pick up one of the headphones provided and listen to a conversation. Visitors can purchase tickets for the discussion rounds free of charge on site and borrow headphones.

Entry: 6:00 p.m.
Beginning: 6:30 p.m.

Please note: the event is not taking place at the Science Campus Braunschweig-Süd in Stöckheim!
