We are following the current events in Ukraine with great concern and dismay. The massive breach of international law committed by the Russian regime under President Vladimir Putin with its invasion on 24 February 2022 cannot be justified by anything. The HZI, like the entire Helmholtz Association and the Alliance of Science Organisations, stands behind the decisions of the German government, which has launched extensive sanctions packages.
