The Helmholtz Institute for One Health (HIOH) is looking for a part-time IT System and Network Administrator.

The Helmholtz Institute for One Health (HIOH) Greifswald is a site of the Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research (HZI). Here, the connections between the health of humans, animals and their environment are researched. Our aim is to better understand zoonotic diseases, antimicrobial resistance and the evolution of pathogens and thus contribute to the prevention of pandemics. Founded in 2021, the institute with its international and interdisciplinary research teams is a beacon for innovative One Health research in one of Germany's most beautiful regions, right on the Baltic Sea.

In your role as IT System and Network Administrator, you will work in close cooperation with the HZI data centre and ensure the compatibility of all services between the sites. Your responsibilities will include supporting HIOH users and ensuring local IT support.

Tasks
  • HIOH user support and provision of services according to ITIL
  • Local contact person for the data centre at the HIOH site for all IT matters
  • Support for all local systems in collaboration with other data centre employees and employees in the individual departments
  • Support and assistance for users (Service Desk)
  • Duplication of the systems already in use at the Braunschweig site (e.g. backup, software administration, AD, DNS, DHCP, ...)
  • Collaboration in ongoing IT projects and independent assumption of subtasks
  • Support and expansion of the network environment
Prerequisites
  • Successfully completed technical university or university of applied sciences degree in computer science or information technology or successfully completed technical training in the IT sector (e.g. computer scientist etc.), or comparable training with equivalent skills and many years of professional experience
  • Proficiency in Windows server and client operating systems and their administration in networks
  • Knowledge of operating and setting up network infrastructure and network security
  • Expertise in the area of various IT services on Windows, Macintosh and Linux operating systems
  • Good knowledge of Linux and/or macOS is desirable
  • Good written and spoken German and English skills

19,5 hours per week
