The People & Culture department is looking for a Human Resources Administrator to start as soon as possible.

The Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research GmbH, based in Braunschweig, investigates the mechanisms of infectious diseases and their defences. To this end, the scientists are researching viruses and bacteria such as the pathogens that cause malaria and AIDS, Covid-19 and hepatitis. At the same time, the researchers are analysing the human immune system and developing new drugs and vaccines. To this end, the research centre with its more than 900 employees focuses on individualised medicine and drives forward the search for pathogens using AI. The HZI is headquartered in Braunschweig and also maintains several institutes in other German states.

The Human Resources Department at the HZI is the central point of contact for all personal matters and questions. Its responsibilities cover all aspects of the employee cycle, from personnel planning and recruitment to payroll accounting and job evaluation. This also includes monitoring the personnel cost budget. The HR department currently consists of 22 dedicated employees.

The Human Resources department deals with specific personnel measures and matters such as recruitment, temporary layoffs and regrouping and provides information on collective bargaining law and the WissZeitVG, for example. 

Tasks
  • Ongoing support and advice for a defined group of employees in German and English on all collective bargaining, social and labour law issues, taking into account the relevant labour and collective bargaining law provisions in each case
  • Researching, checking and applying collective bargaining and labour law regulations, such as contractually relevant reasons for fixed-term contracts, previous periods of employment in accordance with the WissZeitVG, TVöD, TzBfG, etc.
  • Collaboration in the digitalisation of processes, procedures and forms within the HR department and at the interfaces to other departments
Prerequisites
  • Completed university/bachelor's degree in economics or comparable training with equivalent skills and experience
  • Several years of experience in human resources
  • Knowledge of the relevant collective bargaining, classification and general labour law
  • Experience in the application of the WissZeitVG and TzBfG
  • Good IT skills (Excel, Word, SharePoint, etc.)
  • Knowledge of the LOGA accounting system is an advantage
  • SAP knowledge is desirable
  • Service-oriented working style and a friendly demeanour
  • Organisational skills, analytical and structured way of working
  • Good German and English language skills (oral and written)

29,25 hours per week
