The People & Culture department is looking for an administrator in the Young Scientists Support team.

The Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research GmbH (HZI), Germany's largest non-university infection research centre, is a member of the Helmholtz Association and conducts cutting-edge research in the field of infectious diseases. Our scientists develop novel methods and strategies to fight infectious diseases faster and more effectively. Our common goal is to develop novel approaches for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of infectious diseases. Bacterial and viral pathogens, their interaction with the human immune system and new effective agents and vaccines are at the centre of our research.

The People & Culture department is responsible for recruiting, managing and training employees. The aim is to promote a positive working environment and employee development. The "Young Scientists Support" team is dedicated to supporting young scientists. It offers professional development, mentoring and training programmes to support doctoral students and postdocs on their career path. The team also includes the Family Office, which provides support in balancing work and family life, Human Resources Development, which supports all employees, the Welcome Office, which helps international employees with official matters and cultural integration, and HR administration for doctoral students and guests.

The administrative work in the "Young Scientists Support" team therefore includes a wide range of activities in various fields.

Tasks
  • Personnel processing/support and counselling of a defined group of employees in German and English
  • Creating and maintaining digital personnel files
  • Collaboration in the digitalisation / implementation of IT projects in the team
  • Processing in general personnel development
  • Processing in the Welcome Office
  • Creating statistics and analyses for team and department management
Prerequisites
  • Completed university/bachelor's degree (from subject areas such as business administration, economics, business law)
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing requirements and activities
  • Strong interpersonal skills, strong communication skills and ability to work in a team
  • Knowledge of project management and event organisation
  • Proficient in MS Word, Outlook and Excel
  • Very good written and spoken English skills
  • Affinity for digital processes
  • Willingness to undergo continuous further training
  • Intercultural experience and service-orientated way of working desirable 
Working hours

19,5 hours per week.
